We continue on the trails of history as we make our way to an art workshop where you witness the gilding of a painting with real gold, using a technique dating back to the 13th century.

Here, you have some free time to grab a bite to eat or shop for souvenirs before we head to
Monteriggioni, a medieval village with imposing walls that resisted centuries of sieges and attacks. In fact, if you have a passion for video games, you will find yourself on the
set of Assassin’s Creed. Built in 1200, the village’s medieval flair and its belt of walls have been perfectly preserved to this day.
Our last lag of the day takes us to
San Gimignano. Today, the striking skyline of Tuscany’s “Manhattan of the Middle Ages” boasts 14 towers of various heights that make for striking panoramic pictures along the rolling hills of the Tuscan countryside. Strolling through the medieval streets and little alleys, we discover an abundance of
little shops and local products. With breathtaking views over the Tuscan countryside, there are two things you have to taste in San Gimignano: the gelato that won the
Ice Cream World Championship and
“Vernaccia”, a famous white wine that stems from the region.
